Kokeshi Doll Amigurumi

Hi there!
I was going to have an AWESOME post about my latest sewing project but as I was finishing up my sewing machine died. Again. So instead I decided to make an amigurumi. One day I happened on a picture of a Kokeshi doll amigurumi, but it was in a magazine. An expensive magazine! And, well, amigurimi dolls are really easy once you get the hang of them so I just started crocheting and I ended up with my very own Kokeshi doll! The pattern is below.

You'll need:
5 colors of yarn, plus black yarn (or safety eyes) for the eyes and pink or red for the mouth. I used medium weight yarn.

Using your tapestry needle, sew the bun to the rest of the hair, slightly off center so the bun will sit on the back of the head. Slip your hairpiece over the head as if it were a cap and sew onto the head. Sew your head onto the body of the doll. Slip the Obe (color C) onto the doll. Tie the second Obe belt onto the doll. Sew the Sleeves onto the sides of the doll. Embroider on eyes and a mouth. You're done!

Happy Crocheting!
XOXO,
Liz

  1. You, my friend, need to get yourself on ravelry. This would be perfect to put up there!
